As users with Google’s new Nexus 7 tablet are figuring out, when setting up the device to access the Play Store, Google is providing a $25 credit for registering. But the good times don’t stop there. If you do a factory reset of the device and register a new account, including providing valid credit card information, an additional $25 credit will be issued by Google.
It is unclear as to whether this is really what Google intended to occur and may be questionable, though not unprecedented, behavior. In any case, if you are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity, you may want to do so as soon as possible in case Google makes a change.

Hafeez, I dont’ think that is the case. I registered with my credit card, like they asked in July, and am noticing that all purchase have gone onto my CC instead of the credit they promised… Because they NEVER gave me the credit and are refusing to do so now.
My husband did receive his credit, but I did not. Google is saying Too bad So sad, we cannot help you…. That it is too late. I asked the Google guy, what I had to do to get the credit.. I did EVERYTHING he said on July 23, 2012. Before the end of the promotion period was over. Yet they are still saying They will not give me the credit.
Google is ripping people off and hoping they do not notice they didn’t’ get the credit and are not noticing, then not helping those who do.
Hi there,
I didn’t get the free Google play credits when I signed up. Is that because I don’t have a credit card registered with Google Play?
Regards,
Hafeez
Yes, you have to register a card.
