Evo 3D Takes A Bullet And Saves a Life, HTC Sends User Brand Spanking New “One”

The HTC Evo 3D (yeah, remember that phone?) is making a quick come-back to fame for however brief it may be, thanks to a Florida man who was wearing the device in his breast pocket when it literally took a bullet for him. You heard that right. The two year old device caught a bullet meant for the man's chest and literally spared him. In addition, HTC has decided to send the man a slew of accessories to accompany his brand spanking new and complimentary HTC One. A sort of thanks for the free publicity it would seem. Hey, we've always touted that HTC made some serious hardware. The proof is pudding as they say.

Check out the pic of the shot up device as well as the awesome care package the Taiwanese manufacturer sent him. We're pretty sure he'll be a die hard loyal HTC fan, if he wasn't already, from here on out. And just as a disclaimer, we're not promoting any smartphone take the place of a bulletproof vest. Just in case anyone had any bright ideas :)

Joe began appreciating all of the free utilities Google provided and sold his soul (his precious data) to Google long before they got into the mobile OS business. So, there was no hesitation at all for him to jump on board and ride the Android train as an early adopter. And boy has it been a blast. Joe now works in the Engineering & Operations dept for a major mobile carrier where he remotely troubleshoots cell sites and loves being an Editor for TalkAndroid.
