I have been interested in Google TV for a while but convincing my sweetie that I need to turn our TV into a giant Android device is well, darn near impossible. Given Google’s announcements at CES this year regarding its TV service and who they would be partnered with, it wouldn’t be long before more devices hit the market. Well this device was brought to my attention earlier this afternoon and after looking at it I think it could be something worth looking into. Magic-Pro iGoGo TV looks to turn your TV into a full Android 2.3.1 tablet of sorts. It has the following specs:
Features:
- ARM Cortex-A8 1GHz Processor
- 512MB DDR3 & 4GB NAND Flash (Support: MicroSDHC & USB External HDD/Flash Drive)
- Built-in 2-megapixel Webcam & Mic
- Includes 2.4Ghz Wireless Air-Mouse-Keyboard
- Support 1080P Full HD Video Decoding for Most Video Format
- Android 2.3.1 OS (Online Firmware Update)
- Video output : HDMI 1.3 AV-Out/ Audio Output: HDMI 1.3, AV-Out
- Net Interface : WiFi/Ethernet
You can get this device for $188 from Pyramid Distribution and it includes everything listed above. I don’t know if it will get upgraded to any other version of Android but I know it has an HDMI output for 1920×1080 resolution. So if you are wanting Android 2.3 on your giant flatscreen tv then hit the source to purchase one of these. Is this something you would purchase?
