For those of you in the US that have been waiting to get your taste of Ice Cream Sandwich on the Galaxy Nexus, your journey is drawing closer to an end. If you were expecting a Black Friday or November release however, you will be disappointed. The Galaxy Nexus on Verizon has been confirmed for a December release. This is no rumor as the folks over at Business Insider have received confirmation straight from Samsung. While it's confirmed for December, pricing and an exact release date are still up in the air. It could be that Verizon is trying to hash out some issues with the phone, and testing it thoroughly on their networks to avoid some of the issues that people are having with the phone already.
With this announcement though, it appears that the December 8th launch has a little more weight to it, and for those of you that are patiently waiting, it appears that your patience is about to be rewarded. For those of you who were holding out for this phone or deciding on another, how does this affect your decision?

Where the “HELL” is att??..was a time when they were always leading the way with the iphone..etc..now i cannot even get timely o/s updates..too bad i think they are going to lose me after 15 years…another case that customers are not important but profit is king….to big to fail?
Verizon exclusivity appears to be the culprit here. Exclusivity: such a stupid idea.
Doesn’t affect my decision one bit…. it affects how I see Verizon and how they treat their customers…… just because they have the best network, they think that they can do whatever they want, btw they can do anything they want, but they piss enough people off, they will go downhill just like any other company that thinks they can piss people off.
This has nothing to do with finding ‘problems’ with the phone, it is playing favorites to Motorola, plan and simple. They are delaying the launch to try to drive up Razr sales…. guess what Verizon. If you insist that Motorola does not put blur on their Razr, you would see the sales increase. Delaying a home run phone is NOT in the best interest of Verizon, but they don’t care… they want to play favorites.
I am willing to bet that Samsung doesn’t do another exclusive phone with Verizon. The way that Verizon handled the Nexus launch, Samsung has got to be pissed.
But Verizon doesn’t realize that NONE of their Android phones have hit a home run since the Droid X. How to I know this? The Droid X was the LAST Android phone that had a backorder after launch. Not the Droid Bionic, not the Razr, not anything else that they have put out. If the Nexus doesn’t backorder, I will be surprised.
But then again, Verizon might delay long enough for the Nexus to come out on another carrier. Then you will see a mass exodus from the big red machine to go get what they want.
You sir, are 100% correct. Verizon stunk this thing up, big time.
