With the Amazon Kindle Fire ready to torch the tablet scene, Barnes & Noble isn't about to sit and watch. They are planning on revealing the Nook Tablet this Monday, but Androidcentral was able to get all the juicy details ahead of the announcement.
The look will essentially not change from the Nook Color, and it will still have a 7-inch VividView IPS (1024 x 600) display. Inside is where the changes are as it has a 1.2GHz TI OMAP dual-core processor . It will come with 16GB of internal storage, but can be expanded another 32GB with a microSD card. It's a little thinner at 0.48 inches and the weight is down to 400 grams (Nook Color was .50 inches and 448 grams respectively). For battery life, they are expecting 8 hours with WiFi off or 4 hours of video playback.
It will come with support for Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Pandora as well as applications for email and browsing. They don't appear to be mentioning Android at all so we are only assuming that their interface is based on it.
Pre-orders will start right after the announcement with shipments arriving November 16. The price will be $249 which is $50 higher than the Kindle Fire.
