Droid Bionic XT875 Shows Up On Verizon’s Cellebrite System, Still No Launch Date Revealed

The Droid Bionic seems to continue to cause people to scratch their heads.  We mentioned earlier this month that an August 4th date was revealed via a leaked pick of Verizon’s  database.  Then, yesterday we caught wind of another leaked photo revealing the launch date was pushed further out to September.  Oh, how disappointing.  We can hear the crowd now as they continue to read things like this and shout “oh come on!”.  The device is still highly anticipated by many, but one has to wonder, will the handset live up to all of the hype?  Only time will reveal that.  In a recent addition to Droid Bionic news sightings, it appears that the latest version of the device is dubbed the XT875 as shown in Verizon’s Cellebrite system.  The database also reveals the previous version XT865.  We’re not sure what to make of it, but at least we know the device still exists.  Given the track record of Verizon’s Cellebrite database, we’re not holding our breath for an August 4th release date.  However, we’ll try to remain optimistic and play with other phones on the network until then, like the Droid 3.   Feel free to let us know what you think in the comments below.

If the Bionic release date gets pushed back to September, I’ll probably buy the Samsung Function, Verizon’s version of the Samsung Galaxy S II, on August 12th…supposedly it’s release date.
