Hell hath no fury like a loyal customer pushed too far, and Verizon seems to have stepped on some mighty expensive toes. Following their recent activities of slashing perks, hiking their fees, and yanking loyalty discounts, the backlash has been swiftly dealt against them.
Long-time subscribers have begun plotting their exits and it's forcing the mobile carrier into damage-control. They're now offering flashier discounts, but only if you had threatened to walk away. I guess leaving your cell provider does offer its own perks.
If they're not treating you right, leave
Android Authority conducted a survey on Verizon customers and the results are revealing. Nearly 900 responses admitted that the changes made by the company were enough reasons to make them consider leaving.
The survey also painted a clear picture of growing dissatisfaction, underscoring the carrier’s already troubling loss of 51,000 postpaid subscribers between April and June.

Several of them have even taken Reddit and other forums to share experiences. According to one, Verizon started stacking multiple offers, including a $25 lifetime loyalty discount plus new $20-per-line and 12-month discounts, after they triggered the process to port out.
Basically, that’s $40 per month for two lines in a year. In some cases, this discount stacks with your lifetime loyalty discount, meaning you keep both and you could slash the monthly bill far more than before.
Other users report getting similar deals after contacting Verizon’s CEO directly. CEO Sowmyanarayan Sampath isn’t exactly hiding behind secrecy. In fact, he’s openly inviting you to contact him via his direct email published in a public statement on customer service improvement.

Sadly, not everyone’s seeing the offers after choosing to jump Verizon's ship. So, it's largely dependent on luck. Several long-term customers, even with 10–20+ years on the network, say they’ve received nothing or were told their only option was to downgrade their plan. But there's hope on the horizon.

New loyalty discounts may be in the works
There are rumors suggesting that the carrier is preparing a new round of loyalty discounts to replace the older ones set to expire on September 1, 2025. A Reddit user claims to have spoken with Verizon’s retention team, who restored $20 of the $25 they were about to lose in loyalty discounts.
They were also told that, starting in late August, Verizon plans to roll out percentage-based discounts for certain postpaid customers, reportedly between 10% and 25% off the total account bill.

Details are still thin. But in the meantime, the carrier is already rolling out Back to School Savings and Family Tech Weekend deals. You should take advantage of them before they expire.
Starting August 7, and throughout the month, Verizon stores nationwide will offer hands-on demos, parental control setup, and digital wellness workshops aimed at parents, students, and teachers.
Flagship phones like the iPhone 16, Galaxy S25, and Pixel 9 are going free on select unlimited plans with eligible trade-ins. Family-friendly devices such as the Gizmo Watch 3 Adventure, TCL Tab 10 NXTPAPER 5G, and discounted smartwatches are also part of the sale.
