Xiaomi's Mi 8 could launch in 8 new countries other than China 2

May is proving to be a busy month for Xiaomi, with the Chinese handset maker launching its latest flagship smartphone along with making announcements of global expansion. The company revealed its plans to sell handsets with the Three network in the UK, and other European countries such as France and Italy. Today, a leaked image has given Xiaomi fans reason to believe that the new flagship, the Mi 8, could launch in regions other than China and India.

As you can see from the main image, there are pictures of a few of the worlds most recognizable landmarks merged with the number ‘8'. From the landmarks shown on the picture, speculation is running rife that Xiaomi will launch the Mi 8 in Egypt, Spain, India, Italy, Thailand, Russia, Vietnam, and France. not forgetting China, of course.

This is all exciting news, but what are we expecting to see with the Mi 8? Well, as with most of the flagships we've seen in 2018 so far, the Mi 8 should have the Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor providing the grunt and could be available in 6GB and 8GB variants. As is customary with Xiaomi, the Mi 8 will launch running MIUI, likely to be version 10 which is coincidentally launching on the same day and should have an Android 8 Oreo foundation.  It's expected that the Mi 8 will follow the trend and sport a notch at the top of the screen as well as a metal and glass design, and wireless charging. It's thought that the Mi 8 will be available in two size variants.

What are your thoughts on the Mi 8? Would you like to see it launch in your region?
