When Google launched the Pixelbook back in October, there was no denying that it was the Chromebook to beat all other Chromebooks. With such a high level of specification and the unquestionably slick design, though, it could only be one thing – hellishly expensive. Which, with a starting price of $999, it was. An official sleeve for the Pixelbook has appeared on the Google Store today that also sports a premium design, and you guessed it, a premium price.
With a stone colored heather microfiber exterior, the official Pixelbook sleeve also boasts a microfiber interior, an internal slot for the Pen, as well as a magnetic catch to keep everything safely inside. Oh, and it also costs $100/£80. Ouch. That’s a fair chunk of money for a sleeve that will probably spend most of its life inside a backpack or messenger bag.
I guess it has the classy Google logo on the top left of the flap, and it does look like a premium product that will match the Pixelbook’s white and silver aesthetic, but $100/£80? Really? Coincidentally, the official Pixelbook sleeve costs $20 more than the Bellroy Sleeve that was previously sold on the Google Store, which has conveniently been removed from sight.
What do you think? Would you pay $100 for a sleeve to protect your Pixelbook? If you would, click the link below to go straight to its listing on the Google Store.
