Razer is rumored to unveil their first ever smartphone on November 1st, and up until now, we’ve barely heard anything about what the phone will actually be.
Well, you didn’t expect Razer to keep everything under wraps up until the announcement, did you? Nope, we’ve got a leak detailing the specs of their gaming-focused smart gadget.
A phone simply called the Razer Phone has popped up on GFXBench, which means we’re getting a look at the hardware that will actually power the device. There’s a Snapdragon 835 CPU here, plus a 2K resolution display, but Razer has managed to jam in 8GB of RAM. Do we really need that much RAM in a phone? Probably not, but it’ll tie in well with their gaming focus.
There will be a 5.7-inch display with a standard 16:9 aspect ratio, Android 7.1.1, and 64GB of internal storage. MicroSD card isn’t guaranteed, however.
Razer’s in for a tough task against the likes of Samsung, but they’re going in with the best hardware they can muster. There are a ton of things that make or break smartphones, like software features and camera quality, and that’s the kind of thing we can’t tell from a benchmark.
