DJ Koh says Samsung will debut the Galaxy Note 8 in August 3

Samsung's Galaxy Note 8 will be announced next month.

We knew this even though it wasn't official, but now it's official.

Samsung's DJ Koh, head of the mobile division, was speaking at a press conference in Taiwan when he revealed that the Galaxy Note 8 becomes official in August. The confirmation aligns with previous launches for Galaxy Note entries and recent rumors. Typically we see a new high-end phone from the company in the final weeks of August or at the very beginning of September.

The latest rumor points to August 23 in New York City as the setting for the phone's launch. Going back to the Galaxy Note 4, Samsung has introduced its year-ending flagships in the Big Apple. So it's no surprise for the Galaxy Note 8 to be revealed there as well.

Koh also stated the Galaxy S8 is selling 15% better than last year's Galaxy S7. Because of that, Samsung wants to build on its momentum. And, if there's one way to keep all eyes on you, it's by announcing a new device.
