We've been hearing a lot lately about whether or not the Nexus One will ever see some Gingerbread love, but Google wants you to know that the update to 2.3 is coming soon.
Due to the fact that the N1 is a “purely developer” phone, we would have expected to see Gingerbread on it not too terribly long after release. The device got 2.2 love just 6 days after the source code release of Froyo, making it the first device to officially receive it. So now everyone wants to know – where's Gingerbread?
Google's response is to simply keep on keeping on. They say that it's on the way, and rumors are circulating that “there have been no unexpected hurdles and that the rollout should be starting soon.”
What are your thoughts on the updates for the Nexus One? Be sure to let us know in the comments.

It feels like a long time since we got Froyo so promptly. Can’t help but believe that the S will leave the N1 in the dust as far as attention from Google.
People with N1s still use stock? CM7 nightlies are out NOW!
I’m hoping it comes within the next month. Cause I feel that my HTC g2’s 2.2 is kinda buggy. Or it just might be me. Lol
Didn’t they say that in December?
I don’t mind waiting for it. Better wait and get a polished OS than a bugged one. I mean a bugged app I can live with, not a bugged OS.
But I’ll admit, I’m looking at the columns everyday hoping for some news. Since there is no dates announced, I think it will still take a while, a few weeks at best.
That mutated gingerbread image makes me laugh. One of those full laughs, not the “heh” laugh.
WE DONT BELIEVE IT!
