Verizon customers will be happy to know that, yes, the Nextbit Robin will have a special variant that is ready to operate on their carrier's network.

After receiving many requests, Nextbit started exploring the possibility of a Robin that would work with Verizon and Sprint's networks. The first Robin that debuted on Kickstarter (which is still available today) only supports GSM networks, obviously meaning that some people would be left out. So Nextbit confirmed that a Verizon-ready Robin is coming. The company did not, however, mention whether or not a Sprint variant is still being considered.

A special flash sale will start at 1:00PM ET on September 18, pricing the Robin at $299 on Kickstarter for the first three hundred backers. Once those units are taken, backers can just choose any reward level and complete a survey later on that asks which variant they would like.

Nextbit is also introducing the Community Color Contest. The Robin is currently being offered in Midnight and Mint, but Nextbit wants its community to get creative and choose their own. The company has a Photoshop file available for download that allows people to customize the colors of a Robin. Then, after choosing five of their favorites, Nextbit will open voting to its backers. The winner will see their customized Nextbit Robin be an option for backers prior to the handset shipping.
