Google has updated the Play Books application to add a handful of new tweaks and improvements across the board. One of the more major adjustments is performance-related; all books, whether they're bought from Google Play or uploaded on your own, will now open faster. When dealing with larger books, sometimes the app took awhile to get everything loaded up and ready to go, so this is a nice improvement. There are also some tweaks to make highlighting and notes work a little better, which is always welcome.
On top of those tweaks, Google has added the ability to upload your own books through the phone and tablet versions of Play Books. Any compatible PDF or ePub file can be uploaded straight from your device to your Play Books account. This has previously been available on the desktop version of Play Books, but the mobile option is a very nice touch.
Like all of Google's updates, this one's going out in stages. If you don't see the update yet, just be patient. You'll see it soon enough.
