You generally don't need a reason to slash prices, but the recent FAA ruling allowing the use of personal electronics during takeoff and landing has inspired Amazon to drop the Kindle Fire HD and the Kindle Fire HDX by 15% for today only.

The Kindle Fire HD is normally $139, but it's $118 after the discount. If you would rather grab the HDX, it's priced at $195, a $34 savings. You can even grab the basic Kindle for $59. I still say the Nexus 7 is the best all around tablet in regards to price, but these Kindles are perfect for Grandma and Grandpa. Again, this is only good for today, and be sure to enter promo code ThnksFAA at checkout.
