In an interview with Engadget, NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang talked about the new Tegra chip (named Project Logan) and the Shield 2. Huang tells Engadget that “we should expect a new Shield whenever there's a new Tegra and we create a new Tegra every year.” There you have it. Expect Project Logan to launch in 2014 alongside the next Shield gaming device.
Over the weekend, we learned that NVIDIA would be consolidating its gaming platform to include game streaming, GRID streaming, and Shield; therefore, the next Shield would likely take into effect all of these new possibilities. If you're interested in Huang's interview, hit the source link below.

well, this is great. Nvidia showing some love to SHIELD users. i was worried we’d have to use the same Tegra 4 for who-knows-how-many years.
Now, my only petition would be, either smaller bezels around the screen, or just a larger screen. it would be cool if it had a dual cameras, but a front facing one should be more than enough. Also, i think there should be a way to use the touch-screen more comfortably. there are too many ways this could be done, though they all seem complex. i’d love to see it anyways.
there is one thing i’d like to see… though i think i wont see it happen.
that thing is a separate power port. so we can use OTG while charging. or maybe just a flat out USB 2.0 port. that would be great!
BUT i think it wont happen. thought if it did, just shut up and take my money!
nVidia have been releasing a new tegra 4 years in a row. it was clear they were working on tegra 5. which means next year we will see tegra 6. and so on. it’s not worth upgrading every year, too much money wasted for less than 12 months of usage, i am sick of that.
