Just when we thought Samsung pushed the envelope with the Galaxy Note II and its 5.5-inch display, Huawei drove right over it with the Ascend Mate that was announced earlier today. It sports a whopping 6.1-inch IPS display at 720p. Seriously folks this is just about Nexus 7 territory, but Huawei thinks the consumer will eat it up. The rest of the specs should satisfy everything you desire with Huawei’s Hi-Silicon 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 8MP rear camera, 1.0MP front camera, and a massive 4050mAh battery. It has Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and the latest version of the Emotion UI. Looks like China will get it in February, and as usual no word on a U.S. launch. Hit the break for the hands on video.
