Oppo is readying the Find 5, could be the first smartphone with a 1080p display

China-based Oppo seems to be ahead of the curve lately. They launched the world’s thinnest smartphone called the Oppo Finder, and now they are looking to launch the first smartphone with a 1080p display called the Find 5. It also looks like this one may classify as the world’s thinnest quad-core smartphone.

It’s still in the prototype stage and it will boast a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 display at 441ppi. That blows away everything available now, and probably even the soon to be announced iPhone 5. Other major notables are that it will feature a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 12MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, 2500mAh battery, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Since it’s in the prototype stage we have no idea on pricing or when this puppy will be released.

that’s insane. 441 ppi is almost overkill. wonder if it’ll be able to keep things smooth with that resolution

      I don’t think it’ll have a problem with the quadcore s4 bro. I want this phone !

it’s not that simple. 1080p uses up twice as much resources as 720p, including memory and gpu. i can tell you this in advance: games are gonna run like crap. maybe not crap per see, but worse than any phone that came out in the last 12 months.

This seems so unreal. Will be excited if they are able to implement all this!
