Motorola Edge 40

There's been more than a few leaks about this Motorola smartphone but the Edge 40 is finally official. Powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 8020 processor with a 6.55-inch pOLED display and a stylish vegan leather finish, the Motorola Edge 40 goes on sale today for a reasonable price of £529. Unusually, the Edge 40 features a pair of quality camera sensors, neither of which is the practically useless 2MP.

The 6.55-inch pOLED display boasts an FHD+ resolution with 402ppi, a 144Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1200 nits. On the audio side, you'll find stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos plus Motorola Spatial Sound which creates a more immersive listening experience.

Featuring just two rear cameras consisting of a 50MP main sensor with OIS and a 13MP ultra-wide lens which also acts as a macro lens. The wide aperture of the 50MP main camera is said to produce better results in low-light environments with faster capture speeds so you don't miss that special moment. The 32MP front-facing camera is housed in a central punch-hole in the display.

A 4.400mAh battery is present with support for 68W TurboPower wired charging and 15W wireless charging. While the battery is less than many of its rivals which tend to feature a 5,000mAh capacity, it may be down to the Edge 40 being just 7.58mm thick.
