Amazon's free app of the day is another method of killing time. CandySwipe by Runsome, is a brain teaser similar to Bubble Popper, but with a twist. You see delectable treats such as Hershey's Kisses, peppermints, candy apples, and gingerbread men among other sweet treats instead of bubbles. You simply swipe your finger left, right, up, down, or diagonally across matching pieces of candy without touching non-matching pieces. As you swipe five or more pieces, you'll gain additional time and added points. For an added strategy, you can also track back your swipes to collect missed pieces as long as your finger doesn't touch a non-matching candy piece along the way.
The game has a simple premise, but can quickly become addictive. The swiping feature, though unusual at first (especially for those with big fingers like myself), makes it easy to execute the matching of the various pieces of sweet treats to score points. Moreover, the more matching candy you collect in a single swipe, the higher your score. Your score is calculated by the number of candy pieces swiped multiplied by that particular number (ex. if you swipe 2 pieces, you receive 4 points, if you swipe 4 pieces, you receive 16 points, etc.). When you become immersed into a particular game, you'll be obsessed with matching more and more pieces for more and more points.
The game features plenty of options to challenge players and friends. In addition to 20 levels, there are 6 difficulty settings from ‘Too Easy to Never Ending'. Each level will start with a clock at 100 seconds and counts down more quickly with each successive level. Reach 2,500 points and you'll be able to move to the next level. The game allows you to even play in a multiplayer mode against friends.
