Ever feel like Hollywood’s casting directors are stuck on repeat? If you’ve watched a movie or streamed anything in 2026, it’s almost impossible not to notice a select circle of stars dominating screens—most notably Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, and Tom Holland. And while French cinema often gets flak for reusing the same actors, Hollywood has taken star saturation to another level this year.
The Same Faces, Everywhere You Look
Just look at Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey. The film features nearly every major box office magnet working today—including Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, and Jon Bernthal—making this arguably the most packed year of their careers so far.
Zendaya & Pattinson: The Busiest Stars of 2026
This sense of déjà vu is especially true for Zendaya and Robert Pattinson. The two have been enjoying remarkably prolific careers lately, appearing together in three of the year’s landmark films.
They started 2026 playing a couple in the dark comedy The Drama. Come summer, both starred in Nolan’s The Odyssey—a 2-hour, 52-minute mythological epic. While they didn’t have shared scenes in this film, fans saw them both return in Dune: Part Three when it premiered on December 16. Pattinson joined the Dune franchise for the first time there, while Zendaya has played a leading role since 2021.
Their screen dominance continues. After promoting The Odyssey, Zendaya quickly appeared at premieres for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, this year’s other summer sensation, starring opposite her husband Tom Holland. Just weeks prior, she and Holland appeared together again in The Odyssey, where Holland played Telemachus.
In addition, Zendaya made headlines this May when she returned for the third and final season of HBO’s Euphoria, resuming her role as Rue. Following an intense schedule—including back-to-back debuts of Spider-Man and The Odyssey fifteen days apart—she announced plans to take a step back after also celebrating her wedding. As she neared her 30th birthday, she told Entertainment Tonight during The Odyssey’s promotional tour:
“Sometimes, you just have to know when to disappear for a little while,”
she said, signaling her intention to pause after a hectic year.
Meanwhile, Robert Pattinson had no plans for a break. In addition to The Drama, The Odyssey, and Dune: Part Three, his schedule this year listed Primetime (which debuted at the Venice Film Festival and was released in France September 23) and Here Comes the Flood for Netflix, with its release date yet to be announced but expected in 2026. Pattinson also had Die, My Love, which already debuted in the United States last year and reached French theaters in April. During an MTV UK interview, he joked about filming so many movies that he couldn’t remember which was his most recent. He’s kept busy, to say the least.
Holland, Hathaway, and the Surprise Guest List
Tom Holland has also dominated two of 2026’s biggest productions—The Odyssey and the fourth MCU Spider-Man entry. Jon Bernthal appeared as Menelaus in The Odyssey and suited up as the Punisher for the first time in theaters in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
This year, blockbuster casts feel like family reunions. Florence Pugh made a surprise showing in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, before rejoining Zendaya and Pattinson in Dune: Part Three. She even appeared the same day in Avengers: Doomsday. There’s speculation that Tom Holland might have a cameo, but his role in that film hasn’t been officially confirmed.
Anne Hathaway: Five Films and Counting
Anne Hathaway, who turned 43 this year, has also had what might be her busiest year ever. Her social media reads like a film release calendar: since January, she’s featured in at least five projects, including the Devil Wears Prada sequel, The End of Oak Street (a hotly anticipated dinosaur film with Ewan McGregor slated for August 12), the drama Mother Mary, the psychological thriller Verity (scheduled for September 30), and The Odyssey, where she plays Penelope.
Oscar Changes Boost the Odds
The prevalence of the same handful of actors in 2026 didn’t seem to hurt their prospects come awards season. Thanks to their work in The Odyssey and a new Oscar rule, they could all be contenders more than once: actors now can be nominated multiple times in the same category for different films. The change makes it even more likely that actors like Zendaya, Hathaway, or Pattinson will pick up nominations—and perhaps more than one golden statue—by taking on several high-profile projects a year.
