Official-looking Kindsuit cases for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 series have surfaced online. They were originally posted on Xiaohongshu (Rednote) by user ID 4214693425. The cases appear in six colors, including navy, black, tan/khaki, orange/brown, silver/gray, and dark navy.
Each case remains consistent with Samsung's previous Kindsuit designs, although this year's collection points to an interesting naming change. Samsung may still be brainstorming what to call the phone ahead of its expected July 22 launch.
It may be losing confidence in its naming skills
Kindsuit cases are Samsung's official slim protective cases for its foldable lineup. They are made of two separate pieces for each half of the device. They also sit thin against the device to preserve the form factor without adding bulk.

The new designs aren't any different, but text printed on their boxes is drawing attention. Two different packages have surfaced in the same leak, and they carry different phone names. The first box labels what should be the Z Fold 8 as “Galaxy New Fold,” while the second set of six boxes all read “Galaxy Z Fold 8” instead of Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.
This development adds to an already complicated naming situation, given that Samsung already reshuffled its Fold 8 lineup back in May. The larger Fold 8 Wide became the standard Fold 8, while the original base Fold 8 was rebranded as the Fold 8 Ultra.

It's also worth noting that this is the first time Samsung has offered two Z Fold phones. Samsung typically launches one horizontally folding device per cycle. That is, one Galaxy Z Fold and one Galaxy Z Flip each year.
Z Slide may fold our imaginations more than the original Folds
Both upcoming Z foldables are rumored to launch July 22 at the Galaxy Unpacked event without their S Pens. The Z Fold 8 may arrive with a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X inner display, the Exynos 2600 chip, 12GB RAM with 256GB or 512GB storage, and a 4,800mAh battery among other specifications. The Ultra model brings a bigger 5,000mAh battery and a triple-camera setup with a telephoto lens.
Meanwhile, the company is also busy exploring more ways to make your phone bend. Money Today, a Korean financial news publication, released a report detailing plans between Samsung Display and Samsung Electronics. The former will supply rollable screens to the latter for a smartphone to be released in the first half of 2028.

A Samsung Electronics official reportedly confirmed the development internally. The device is tentatively called the Galaxy Z Slide, though Samsung has also trademarked the name Galaxy Z Roll, so either could end up being the final name.
While BOE quickly caught up with foldable displays by leveraging unit costs, the same approach does not work for rollable displays due to the difference in the depth of accumulated technology. For Samsung Display, this is an area where they can widen the gap right from the starting line.

Market research firm Omdia predicts the device will feature a 10-inch panel with a 16:9 aspect ratio and 440.6 ppi, with a successor model projected for 2030.
