Last year's Galaxy A26 has a dated design where there is a waterdrop notch at the top of the display and thicker bezels all around. This year's Galaxy A27 now has a punch-hole camera centered at the top and thinner bezels.

Leaked CAD renders from Steve Hemmerstoffer (OnLeaks) and a 360-degree video revealed the phone's design in the color lavender. Here's what it looks like.

Samsung's A-series phones are known for their noticeably large bezels, which is usually paired with the older Infinity-U waterdrop notch on some models. The memory of these features on my now retired Galaxy A23 is still fresh.

Thankfully, Samsung has deemed yet another fit time to ditch this design as they now prepare the Galaxy A27 for global release. Although the bezels are still noticeable, the notch has been replaced with a centered punch-hole camera, which brings the upcoming phone closer to the brand’s higher-end mid-range phones.

Rumor has it that the display is 6.7 inches with AMOLED technology and 120Hz refresh rate. But the phone is a bit shorter and wider than its predecessor. It measures 162.3mm in height, while the Galaxy A26 is 164mm, which is roughly 1.7mm in difference.

The front camera is a 12MP sensor replacing the older 13MP unit, but with a larger sensor that should deliver better low-light selfies and sharper shots overall. The triple rear setup sticks to a 50MP main and 8MP ultrawide, rounded by a 2MP macro. The phone carries model number SM-A276

Samsung is ditching its own chip this year

The gap between the past three phone generations (A27, A26, and A25) has been stretching, so the A27’s release could land somewhere around mid to late 2026.

However, Samsung hasn't confirmed anything. The phone already appeared in the GSMA IMEI database back in February, an indication that we may be shortly before its launch.

Although the previous model used Samsung’s Exynos 1380 chip, with some variations using 1280, this newer model might switch to a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3.

It would also use the Adreno 710 GPU with 6GB RAM and a 5,000mAh battery capacity supporting 25W charging. It has been spotted running Android 16 in a fresh Geekbench listing.

The phone scored 777 single-core and 1802 multi-core under Geekbench 6.6.0, which is in line with its rumored chip. It's a surprisingly low score below the 2,768 that its predecessor managed.

In its defence, it's using a chip that should comfortably beat the A26's Exynos silicon when fully optimized. The numbers may look very different when it launches

The expected price is £299-£319 ($310-$413), and it'll likely settle well below £200 ($270) within a year of release. The A26 launched at £299 ($404), and is currently down to $262 on Amazon for the model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.

Launch is expected around Summer, which means somewhere between June and September, just a few months later than the A37 and A57.
