Remember the slightly embarrassing days when Google Gemini recommended putting glue on your pizza? Fortunately, those times are behind us. In recent months, the Mountain View tech giant has made its grand comeback on the AI scene with Gemini 3—a chatbot that’s now impressively versatile. Not only can it deliver razor-sharp answers, it’s also packed with advanced creative tools, from generating websites to (helpfully!) guiding you through those final high school exams.

Google Gemini: Picking Up Speed, Challenging the Competition

The rapid rise of Gemini is enough to make the competition—starting with OpenAI and its famed ChatGPT—a little nervous. After all, Google has rolled out a subscription offer that’s even more appealing than OpenAI’s. And now, Google sets its sights on making its users wonder if they need ChatGPT at all.

A Groundbreaking Feature: Import Conversations from Other AI Tools

According to TestingCatalog, the latest beta of Google Gemini introduces a feature named “Import AI Conversations”. As the name suggests, this feature lets users bring in their chats and research from other large language models (LLMs) directly into Gemini, so they can carry on those conversations with Google’s own chatbot.

  • This option means users don’t have to give up their precious chat history while switching to Gemini.
  • It opens the door to enjoying Google’s full suite of AI capabilities, hassle-free.
  • For Mountain View, it’s not just about convenience—even Google’s model could benefit from this influx of varied conversations.

Video Verification: Another Weapon Against Deepfakes and AI Tricks

But Google isn’t stopping there. Among other possible updates, the company could soon introduce a “Video Verification” feature. The idea? Help Gemini users quickly and easily spot videos generated by AI—a handy weapon in the ongoing fight against deepfakes and online misinformation.

Recently, Google outlined the basics of this system within the Gemini chat window. Users could upload an image and ask the LLM for verification, at which point Gemini would start looking for something called a SynthID in the image. This is another step in Google’s efforts to help users separate fact from fiction in the digital age.
