You probably already know about Spotify Wrapped, YouTube Music Recap, and even Deezer’s My Year. If you don't, they are end-of-year summaries that show what you’ve been obsessed with all year.
But did you know that Google does its own version too? It's about the entire world’s curiosity. This year’s top trends reveal the questions we couldn’t stop asking.
AI is making searches richer
In a recent blog post, Google states that 2025 had several major cultural moments that drove huge search activity. The top finds were on an American becoming pope. Pope Leo XIV’s (born Robert Francis Prevost) rise to papacy is fascinating indeed. It's historically been European.

Also breaking the search charts is KPop Demon Hunters, and new AI breakthroughs. Because Search now has new AI capabilities, people are typing questions more naturally like they would speak to another person.
Instead of short keyword searches like “Labubu real or fake”, examples Google gave include “What’s the deal with…”, “Tell me about…”, and “How do I…”.
“Tell me about…” had the highest percentage at 70%. One other search that trended was “How do I know if my Labubu is real?”. To answer the funny question, the packaging should have official POP MART branding.
Real boxes use high-quality printing and consistent colors. Counterfeits may look slightly faded or misaligned.

Also, real Labubu figures are made from durable vinyl. You'll want to buy from reliable retailers or verified resellers. Check POP MART stores or well-reviewed collector platforms like StockX or Carousell Verified. Counterfeits may feel lighter, rubbery, or hollow.

Visit Google's interactive website to explore the top trending searches of the year, either worldwide or by country. The page organizes everything into categories, and when you tap each category, it shows you the top rising searches in that section.
Under the country selector, you’ll see different categories like Questions, Recipes, Lyrics, People. Each category can be opened or closed with a + or – button.

The next time you're looking for something, try Google’s newer tools that go beyond keywords entirely. Circle to Search can identify objects or products instantly without you needing to know their names. Hum to Search works even if you can’t remember a single lyric.
