OnePlus announced new interesting features accompanying the September 2025 security patch in its online community. The full changelog mentions an improvement to the animations when tapping Live Alerts or notifications while the screen is locked.
They've also added a map album that allows you to view all images with locations on a map. After you set photos in the Private album as public, they will now reappear in their original locations.

Plus, you can now change your privacy password on each secondary page of Private Safe, as well as in the Locked album of Photos. Other new features include the following:
- View your daily and weekly screen time in App management under Phone Manager.
- Improve the layout of the remote control panel buttons in IR Remote.
- Send text, image, and voice messages to nearby people via BeaconLink when there is no internet connection.
- Enhanced system security.
More interestingly, OnePlus seems to have added some new clock widgets in an update, as spotted by a user. However, they have quietly removed those same widgets without any announcement or explanation. Hopefully, they'll make a comeback soon.

To check for and install the update, open your device’s Settings menu. Then go to System > System Updates. It's roughly 640MB in size, so make sure you have enough storage and a stable internet connection before downloading.

Battery and other issues show up after the update
Since the OxygenOS 15.0.0.860 update, some OnePlus 13 users have reported issues with battery drain, performance lags, and network problems. While updates bring new features and security patches, they can sometimes introduce temporary bugs that affect device performance.
It remains to be seen when OnePlus will release a fix to resolve reported issues like unstable auto-brightness. It's mostly likely a calibration thing and should resolve itself in about two or three days.
It's normal for mobile phones to re-index apps, media files, and system processes after an update. It helps the OS to locate everything as it was and manage itself efficiently. The algorithm will also relearn your usage patterns again until it fully adjusts.

For users in India, OnePlus has made it easier to report bugs directly. You can either use the Bug Report section in the OnePlus Community App or dial *#800# from the affected phone to access a built-in feedback tool.
Users in other regions will have to submit issues through the revamped feedback form. But not before signing in with your OnePlus account. You'll be prompted to create one If you haven't already. If the team needs more information after receiving your form, they might reach out via direct message.
