If your streaming service isn’t finding new ways to surprise your ears, throw it away. Spotify has its Discover Weekly, but YouTube Music’s new Daily Discover is suddenly gunning for the crown.
Google is currently testing the feature, which surfaces a carousel of daily track recommendations based on your listening habits. It's complete with a Play All option and rolling out to a limited number of users.
Get new song recommendations daily
Spotify normally bundles your recommendations into Discover Weekly, a single playlist that refreshes every Monday. It’s based on what you’ve been listening to, what similar users like, and tracks from artists you already know, with a few new finds sprinkled in.
YouTube Music’s new Daily Discover works similarly. But it gives you new songs every day in a homepage carousel. You'll see why each track is recommended, and you can swipe through or play them all instantly, so your discovery feels ongoing instead of once-a-week.

I spotted suggestions of Kehlani’s latest single, (un)Folded, because I've already been playing her music, and Faouzia’s “Hero” because I liked “I Dare You” and several of her songs. Tap it and it takes all of that day’s carousel and instantly queues them up as a single playlist for you. You can view and rearrange them however you like.
The feature doesn’t seem to be new. A Reddit post from a month ago highlighted the feature. At the time, the original poster was only just noticing it on their account. But it disappeared quickly, suggesting that it was most likely under testing. It probably still is as many users are still not seeing it on their apps.

Regardless, it will position YouTube higher up the list of top streaming services. A daily personalized discovery feed taps into one of the most powerful retention tools in music apps.

One more good reason to keep using YouTube Music
When people open YouTube Music and see fresh, relevant recommendations every single day, it creates a habit loop where they keep coming back. I normally don’t use the app, but it suddenly appeals to me.
Besides Spotify, other streaming apps have similar discovery features. Apple Music has “New Music Mix”, which is a weekly list of personalized recommendations. The app also surfaces daily “Favorites Mix” and “Get Up! Mix” playlists.

Deezer has “Flow”, which I love. It's an endless stream of music that blends your favorites with algorithmic suggestions. Meanwhile, Amazon Music offers “My Discovery Mix” refreshed weekly to help you find new artists.
If you can’t see your Daily Discover section, Google hasn’t enabled it for your account or region yet. Even within the same region, two people on the same app version may not see it until testing is over.
It could also be tied to your listening habits. If you don’t listen frequently or mostly play the same artists, the system might delay showing it. You could try updating the app, signing out and back in, or using a VPN to connect through a region where the feature is already live.
