Back in 2017, Samsung released the Galaxy Note FE, which was the first time the company had brought a Fan Edition phone to the market. However, you could argue that the launch of the Galaxy S20 FE in 2020 was the start of the South Korean company's modern FE lineup. A few years later, and we're waiting to see the S25 FE arrive.
We don't know a massive amount about the device, but a few details have begun to trickle in. For one, there will be some solid upgrades coming to the spec sheet, but one of them is pretty notable. In fact, it's an upgrade that Samsung's most expensive device has still neglected to bring to the table, and yes, I'm talking about the charging.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE Will Push Up Its Battery Capacity and Charging Speed

The last few days have brought a handful of leaks about the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE, and from all initial indications, it looks like the device will get a few perks over what the S24 FE delivered. One department where we'll see quite a few of those boosts is with longevity.
We don't know exactly when to expect the device's arrival, but we do know that it will come with a bigger battery than last year. Sure, it is only 200mAh bigger, but a 4,900mAh isn't too bad considering that the Galaxy S25 Ultra is only 100mAh bigger than that. Battery endurance should be minimally better, which is good, considering it will come with the Exynos 2400 (a higher-binned version of last year's Exynos 2400e).

On top of that, we can expect to see a notable improvement in charging speeds. The Galaxy S25 FE will be one of the very few phones in Samsung's portfolio to ship with 45W wired charging, which is as high as the South Korean OEM currently goes in that department. Even the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which starts at a ridiculous $2,000, only makes do with 25W charging. Samsung confuses me with its decisions sometimes.
| Samsung Phone | Battery Size | Wired Charging |
| Galaxy S25 FE (Rumored) | 4,900mAh | 45W |
| Galaxy Z Fold 7 | 4,400mAh | 25W |
| Galaxy S25 Ultra | 5,000mAh | 45W |
| Galaxy S25 | 4,000mAh | 25W |
| Galaxy A36 | 5,000mAh | 45W |
The Display for the S25 FE Will Be More Power-Efficient

Samsung is well-known for its displays, and you can expect the screen on the Galaxy S25 FE to be even better than the S24 FE carried. The screen size will remain the same, but other aspects related to its quality will improve:
- 6.7-inch AMOLED
- FHD+ resolution
- 120Hz refresh rate
- LTPO technology; absent from the S24 FE
- Gorilla Glass Victus+
The LTPO tech should mean that the battery life should be minimally improved since the screen will be able to drop its refresh rate as low as 1Hz, depending on what's happening on the screen. It's nice that Samsung is able to add all of this new tech to the phone, considering it will be only 7.4mm thick and weigh 190g, which are both significantly improved over last year's numbers.
