Redmagic is releasing its new Magic 3 Pro gaming tablet lineup in China. We'll know it as the Redmagic Astra when it hits international shores, but the specifications are largely the same with interesting memory configurations. It stretches from 12GB RAM + 256GB storage all the way up to a flagship 24GB RAM + 1TB.
It's basically the soul of a gaming PC placed in your hands and it's available in the Eclipse (black) and Starfrost (silver) colorways, with 2.4K OLED visuals on a 9.06-inch display. Early Bird pricing starts at $549 from July 15, with global sales opening July 16 exclusively via the official website.
Powerful specs are infused into Astra gaming tablet
The Snapdragon 8 Elite is not left out of the Astra tablet, given that it's one of the best chips available right now, if not the best. Courtesy of a 13-layer ICE-X cooling system, Redmagic has put a dual vapor chamber that sits above and below the chip to handle heat faster.
It will come with an 8,200mAh battery, which is acclaimed to deliver over six hours of heavy gaming and up to 33 hours of video playback. Audio comes through the dual 1210 speakers, tuned with DTS:X Ultra, and they have also developed their X-Gravity software. The software allows you to tweak frame rates, assign macros, and cast gameplay at up to 8K resolution.

There’s support for screen recording, external monitors and wireless casting. The tablet will run Redmagic OS 10.5 with Android 15 at its core, and use most of Google’s Gemini AI integration. It also supports stylus input, keyboard shortcuts, and a suite of accessories including a folio case, gamepad, and magnetic pen.
Remarkable heat dissipation
Perhaps, the thermal engineering should be the most interesting thing. Most tablets like the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra or iPad Pro rely on graphite sheets and throttling algorithms to manage heat.
They don’t have real airflow, per se, and it's more like they spread around heat so that the tablet doesn’t burn your hands. An outer shell, which is usually metal, then radiates that heat into the air.

But the Astra sandwiches the Liquid Metal 2.0 between the chip and the vapor chambers. Metal 2.0 is a thermal compound with conductivity that far outperforms traditional thermal paste.
It allows heat to transfer much faster from the Snapdragon chip into the vapor chambers. There is a physical turbo fan spinning at 20,000 RPM with shark-fin blades and a spiral-shaped air duct to pull in cool air and expel hot air, almost like the tablet breathes.

Pricing and availability
Anyone who buys the Astra tablet will get bonus perks. Premium gaming finger sleeves are yours to grab with a free 80W charger. If you’re late, the standard retail box will not include a charger, which follows a trend many brands have adopted to cut costs or packaging. You'll also miss an exclusive discount with a $1 voucher claimable between July 10–15.

Pricing for the tablet varies depending on the configuration and color option you choose. The base model with 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage is available in both Eclipse (black) and Starfrost (silver) finishes and is priced at $549 in the US.
The mid-tier option, which steps up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, also comes in both colors and costs $699. The top-tier configuration of 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, is only available in the Eclipse finish and is priced at $899.
