I've never had a major interest in acquiring a Nothing device, but even I can admit that I'm excited to see how the manufacturer's first flagship smartphone will turn out. I love competition in the smartphone space, especially with devices that sit in the higher tiers of the market. The Nothing Phone 3 will be one of those, it seems.
While there isn't much that has been made official regarding the phone, the power of leaks and rumors has helped fill in a lot of the gaps. Today, we have what might be one of the most important leaks so far, and that's a leaked render of the device itself, giving us a look at what it will look like. Spoiler: it looks like a Nothing Phone, that's for sure.
The Nothing Phone 3 Brings the Usual Quirkiness to the OEM's First Flagship

Before now, it would have been very silly to expect Nothing to release a phone that looked “regular”, like the S25 Ultra or the OnePlus 13. The company doesn't have a single device that tries to be basic in terms of its aesthetic, and needless to say, the Nothing Phone 3 doesn't choose to be the black sheep. A leaked render, courtesy of Max Jambor on X, gives us our very first look at the Nothing Phone 3, the company's first flagship.

The Nothing Phone 3 brings the transparent back of the other phones from the OEM, giving a glimpse at the various panels and pieces underneath. The most notable thing on the back panel is the oddly-shaped triple camera module, all sitting on a circular panel on the rear side of the phone.

Understandably, it is really hard to describe the back of a Nothing device, but I think that generally, I like it. Official images should help finalize most people's stance on the phone. We can also see that the device seems set to get an extra button. We see what seems to be two volume buttons, a power button on the opposite side, and then a fourth button.
There's No Glyph Interface, or Even Dot Matrix, Anywhere to Be Seen
Earlier, Nothing teased that it was going to be getting rid of the Glyph interface, arguably the most defining single feature of a Nothing device. While it seemed like that move was going to be in favor of a superior alternative, it is hard to tell if that was the case.

From the renders of the Nothing Phone 3, there really doesn't seem to be a Glyph interface anywhere on the device's back panel. But that's been confirmed already, so instead, it's a better idea to keep an eye out for a dot matrix, which was suggested as the likely alternative to the Glyph lighting. The odd thing is, I can't see that either. Though you don't always see it until it's on, just like some other devices with a similar matrix:
- Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro
- Asus ROG Phone 9
- Asus ROG Phone 9 FE
- Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro
It is possible that the strip in the middle of the bottom half of the phone might be a panel with the dot matrix, and if that's the case, people should be fine with Glyph dying. This solution, if truly there, is likely to be a superior option in every way.
