Oppo might not be the first manufacturer on your list when you're thinking of companies that release the kinds of flagships that literally tick every single box. That'd be a mistake. Oppo launched some of the most superpowered modern devices as part of its Find series.

The only real shame is that Oppo's recent Find phones, such as last year's Find X7 Ultra, weren't launched outside China, which means that all we can really do is look at them through a frosty window like a kid looking at a shiny new toy car on Christmas Eve. Fortunately for us, Oppo will open its doors wide with the Find X8 Ultra.

The Oppo Find X8 Ultra Is Coming To International Markets

We don't know anything about specific about the upcoming Oppo Find X8 Ultra's specifications. However, we do know that it is expected to launch globally and that alone makes me ecstatic. Oppo used to release its Find flagships internationally, but for some reason, it stopped after the launch of the Find X5. However, at the company's London conference yesterday, it committed to releasing its next Find X flagship on the global stage.

The Oppo Find X8 Ultra is the next in line and we're expecting big things from it if the Oppo Find X7 Ultra is anything to go by. One thing you need to know, if you happen to be unfamiliar with the Find X series, is that they are pedal-to-the-metal flagships that max out everything and pay a lot of attention to the cameras. The Find X7 Ultra is to the best of my knowledge the only smartphone with two periscope telephoto lenses (emphasis on periscope).

We do know, thanks to Digital Chat Station on Weibo, that the Find X8 Ultra will bring even more camera upgrades to a setup that is already considered to be as good as they can get. The 50MP 6x periscope telephoto camera is expected to be upgraded, and according to the tipster, it will surpass the performance of the 200MP periscope telephoto camera on Vivo's X100 Ultra. That's an extremely bold claim to make, but time will reveal the truth.

The Find X7 Ultra Is Far From A Slouch In Any Spec Department, So The Find X8 Ultra Won't Be Either

We can expect a lot of the specifications of the Find X8 Ultra to remain the same as the Find X7 Ultra, with improvements in certain categories like the cameras, processor, and perhaps the battery. Honestly, with a device as good as this, it's hard for things to improve too significantly.

The Find X7 Ultra sports a 6.82-inch 120Hz LTPO AMOLED screen with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision certification, 4,500-nit peak brightness, and 1440 x 3168 resolution. On paper, this is almost as good as any smartphone display can get (save for displays with 165Hz refresh or Sony's ridiculous 4K screens). You get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, so the Find X8 Ultra is expected to have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. It also maxes out with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

The camera setup is a quad-50MP setup, with a primary lens with OIS and a one-inch sensor, a 2.8x periscope telephoto with OIS, a 6x periscope telephoto with OIS, and an ultrawide. There's also a Hasselblad partnership, so you get the camera company's color calibration on board. The front camera is 32MP. You'll be able to record at 4K/60 on either the front or back of the phone.

You get Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type-C 3.2, and even an IR blaster. As I said, it ticks pretty much every single box. The battery is 5,000 mAh, which is one department that the sequel could likely to do a bit better (and will likely have to thanks to Snapdragon's upcoming power-hungry chip). However, you can charge it up to 100% in 26 minutes thanks to 100W wired charging. 50W wireless charging sweetens the deal.
