Oppo’s ColorOS 14 looks and sounds refreshing
ColorOS 14 is based on Android 14 and uses an aquamorphic design. It gets its inspiration from water, and on-screen elements are to behave fluidly. Most obvious is the coloring system that adjusts hues you see on your phone automatically.
For example, your battery level goes from green to red. Hues also move from warmer tones in the daytime to cooler blues in the evening to mirror the natural light as time passes. The update also brings a major revamp to the Always-On Display. There's a new GO Green Always-On Display (AOD) that hypes climate change and environmental protection.
It aligns with OPPO's mission, “Technology for mankind, kindness for the world”. It also has three sets of Environment Vision pages, with each one containing five animations related to the environment. They change based on how many steps you take per day while your phone's counting. More interesting is that it shows the reduced carbon dioxide emissions from walking instead of using other forms of transport.
ColorOS aquamorpic design reaches your audio experience
Looks aren't all that matter with ColorOS 14. Oppo has partnered with professional academies and experts to understand user audio preferences, and provide the most pleasing sounds.
ColorOS presents 10 sets of aquamorphic-themed sounds for calls, alarms, and notifications. You'll also find seven global UI sound designs with harmonious audio feedback throughout the system.
In terms of annotation, Oppo's Notes app introduces Smart Touch and Stage Image Matting. Both new features help you to select and cut out specific objects or people from images or paused videos. Then you can drag and drop them directly into your note.
