Quick Look at Today’s Free Amazon App: Peggle [Video] 5

Peggle for Android just became available and the Amazon Appstore has it for free today. It is developed by Popcap, which created the very popular Plants vs. Zombies.

Peggle is already popular as it has been available on several platforms including the Xbox and PS3. I have never played the game so today was my first time. I think the graphics are very good, but I am probably in the minority because this game does not interest me. I think Popcap did a fantastic job in designing this for Android so if you are already a fan of Peggle, then you will get hours of entertainment playing it. If you are new to Peggle, I recommend giving it a try.

From the app description:

Do you have what it takes to be a Peggle Master? Shoot and clear all the orange pegs in this peg-busting, critically acclaimed game, now fully optimized for Android devices. You'll reach Extreme Fever as ten outlandish Masters help you achieve Peggle greatness. Take your best shot, conquer 55 levels, and wield ten magic powers in Adventure mode–and the fun is just getting started.

Features:

  • Master 55 levels and 75 Grand Master challenges
  • Discover your powers and develop precision in Adventure mode
  • Pick your level in Quick Play or Challenge mode, or take on your friends and family in Duel Mode
  • Fine-tune your aim for masterful shots, save and replay your memorable moments
  • Use cool style shots–like Off the Wall, Double Long Shot, and Extreme Slides–to rack up more bonus points

The only requirement to download is that you will need a Wi-Fi connection.

  1. Help, i’m a bit confused… the download is listed as 74MB (I got Peggle yesterday) yet, when the app is ultimately on my phone, it’s well under 1MB in size.

Can someone help me understand why it was a WiFi only download but isn’t that big of a program to begin with?

Also, it automatically installed onto my SD card, which is a nice feature, as my Optimus V has a quite limited amount of free RAM (normally 30-40MB). Was nice not to have to move it myself as with other apps… I wouldn’t have even been able to d/l & install if that wasn’t the case.
