When it comes to Android tablets, Samsung is perhaps the leading player in the market right now. From its affordable A series to the flagship S9 lineup, the company caters to several segments with its extensive portfolio of tablets.
Samsung’s 2024 tab lineup commenced with the Galaxy Tab Active 5 launched in January. Currently, Samsung is gearing up to add another tablet to its portfolio with the Tab S6 Lite. If the name rings a bell or two for you, it's because the company is giving this tablet a refresh for the third time now.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite debuted back in 2020 as an addition to the S6 series and was updated in 2022 with some spec bumps. Now, the Korean tech behemoth is reportedly working on the 2024 edition of its Tab S6 Lite, and we have some info on its specifications and price.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite Specifications
A report from Appauls sheds some light on Samsung’s upcoming tablet. It appears that the company is retaining most of the specifications from the Tab S6 Lite 2022, as there are just a couple of changes in the leaked specifications.
Akin to its previous edition, The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite would reportedly get a 10.4-inch display. Also, it would have a reminiscent 6,840mAh battery with support for 15W not-so-fast charging. The chipset would be upgraded to Samsung's in-house Exynos 1280 from the Snapdragon 720G in the previous iteration. The tablet would boot Android 14 out of the box with One UI 6 on top.
Regarding connectivity options, the Tab S6 Lite would get Bluetooth 5.3 and dual-band Wi-Fi. Since its chipset doesn't support 5G, you'll have to settle for 4G LTE networks. Alternatively, you could pick it up in the Wi-Fi-only variants. Both Wi-Fi and LTE versions of the tab would land in two storage options: 4+64GB and 4+128GB.
The aesthetics of the upcoming Tab S6 Lite would also reportedly be similar to its previous iteration. The tab could, though, see a new Light Green colorway while retaining Chiffon Pink and Oxford Gray from its 2022 edition.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite Price
The leak also mentions the alleged pricing of the tablet in Europe. Like its name and some specifications, it seems that Samsung isn't going lite with the Tab S6 Lite's pricing. The base variant would expectedly start at €429 in Europe, with the top variant maxing out at €519. Here's the alleged pricing of all its configurations:
- 4+64GB (Wi-Fi only): €429.
- 4+128GB(Wi-Fi only): €489.
- 4+64GB (LTE): €459.
- 4+128GB (LTE): €519.
All these variants are similarly priced to the Tab S6 Lite 2022 edition, with most of them being cheaper. In this price range, its biggest competitor would be Apple’s iPad (10th generation.)
Launch Date and Availability
There's no launch date for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite yet, but Samsung could give us one anytime soon. The tablet was also spotted on some certification websites, hinting we're nearing the launch. Samsung is also preparing to unveil its Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 smartphones.
