February is here, and that means that MWC 2024 is fast upon us. Mobile World Congress is the place to be if you love to see new smartphone tech all in one place. As always, MWC 2024 will take place in Barcelona, Spain, and this year's edition is from February 26th to February 29th.
Whether you're planning to take a trip to Spain or you'll be fine reading our coverage from the comfort of your home, it's great to have an idea of which brands will be showing up at the show and the products they are likely to launch. We already have a good idea of several of these, so let's talk.
What Product Launches Are Expected At MWC Barcelona 2024?
Several companies have confirmed their presence at MWC. While this article might not tell you everything that each brand might bring (we're expecting some surprises), it'll give you a good idea of what will almost definitely make an appearance. Let's talk.
HMD Global
HMD Global, famous as the company that brought Nokia back from the dead, will take its place at MWC. They'll be bringing smartphones, but the interesting part is that these devices may ditch the Nokia branding and come as “HMD” phones.
Honor
Honor used to be a Huawei subbrand, but they were eventually bought off and are doing impressive things independently. This year, on February 25th, they are bringing the Magic 6 series for a global launch. We'll also get to see the fancy Magic V2 R2R Porsche Design.
Huawei
The US government might have tried to kill Huawei, but they're still breathing. They'll be showing up too, but all we know about their appearance this year is that they'll bring in a brand-new “small foldable.” This probably means we should expect a Z Flip-type device, but we aren't averse to something more exciting.
Nothing
Nothing has been teasing the Nothing Phone (2a), and we've been blessed with plenty of leaks to fill in the gaps of what we don't know. It is likely that the Nothing Phone (2a) will be unveiled this month, and there's no better place for that to happen than at MWC 2024. It is also possible that we could get a brief look at the Nothing Phone (3).
OnePlus
OnePlus launched its flagships already this year, so while they might bring them along for the ride, they're nothing new. It does look like their second attempt at a wearable, the OnePlus Watch 2, will be the main attraction, especially because it will run Wear OS instead of a proprietary interface.
Oppo
The Reno 11 series has already been announced for global markets, but the company will come with a new mid-range device on February 26th. It's expected to be called the Oppo Reno 11F in some territories and the Oppo F25 in others.
Tecno
You might not be too familiar with Tecno if you live in North America, but the brand is huge in many African and Asian markets. They announced the Phantom V Fold, their first foldable, in February last year, so they'll bring its successor, the Phantom V Fold 2, to MWC on February 26th and possibly some AR/VR eyewear.
Xiaomi
Xiaomi has been delving increasingly into consumer electronics beyond smartphones, and on February 25th, it looks like they'll be bringing something absolutely ridiculous. The Xiaomi SU7 car, with the slogan “Human x Car x Home,” will likely be one of their major contributions to the show this year, and it will make waves. CES might have been a better theme for this product, though. We can also expect the new Xiaomi 14 series, with Leica cameras, to be unveiled on the 25th.
ZTE
Last but not least, ZTE will appear on February 26th. Their event has been titled “ZTE Devices New Products Launch”, so it's still quite unsure what they'll bring to the showroom, but our guess is on foldables.
