You may have read a rumor that Asus was consolidating its divisions and as such were shutting down its Zenfone line and focusing on the ROG Phone series, but this may not be the case. Asus has come out with a statement rebutting the report which said the Zenfone 10 would be the last of the series, saying that fans should ‘stay tuned' for the company's product lineups for 2024.
As the only real option for those wanting a compact smartphone with flagship specifications, the notion that the Zenfone 10 could be the last of its lineage wan't good news for the world of Android. Whether there was substance to the rumor or not (perhaps it was an option being discussed), the news that Asus is committed to producing smartphones is a relief.
Asus's statement reads as follows:
“We would like to address the rumor that ASUS Zenfone 10 will be the last generation of the series and the ASUS Zenfone product line will be shut down. This is not true. We will continue our two main phone business product lines, the ROG Phone and the Zenfone. ASUS has a strong commitment to our smartphone business and customers. Please reference our Q2 earnings call for more information. Please stay tuned for our 2024 product lineups. “
