Here with a bump in its monthly fees is YouTube whose Premium tier will cost new subscribers an extra couple of dollars monthly. And, just to prove that there's no such thing as loyaly to long-serving customers the price increase will show in the next payment cycle for existing YouTube Premium customers, bringing the price up to $13.99 each month.
So that's $13.99 monthly for the individual YouTube Premium membership, although the Family tier's price is unchanged at the current time. That being said, the Family tier did see a bump in cost from $17.99 to $22.99 monthly at the end of 2022.
Those who only subscribe to YouTube Music Premium at $9.99 monthly will see an increase of $1, making it $10.99 from the next billing cycle. Google should be sending out notifications of the individual YouTube Premium and YouTube Music Premium price increases before the next payment is due.
By now, you might be wondering if the price increase is worth it. The main thing to consider is how much you watch YouTube content (or listen to the included YouTube Music Premium service which is bundled in) and just how willing you are to watch unskippable ads before and during your favourite content.
Personally, I'll stick with YouTube Premium for the time being but it's being shunted onto the “pending” list for further consideration. What are your thoughts on the price bump?
