After all the leaks and rumors, Nothing's Phone 2 is finally official and comes with a range of improvements and larger dimensions than its predecessor. Now powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, the Phone 2 also sports a bigger 120Hz display, increased battery power, upgraded dual 50MP cameras, and a tweaked Glyph lighting system that is more useful. All of this means the Phone 2 also sees a bump in price to $599/£579 (Up from £399 in the UK).
Unlike its debut handset, Nothing's Phone 2 is on sale in the US as a proper smartphone with full consumer rights as opposed to the Phone 1's weird beta program.
This time around, the Phone 2 is powered by a proper flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, and while it's a year old it's still a top-notch bit of silicon. The Phone 2 is available in 8/128GB, 12/256GB, and 12/512GB memory and storage configurations, and runs on the Android 13-based Nothing OS 2.0 software out of the box. As with last years phone, the Phone 2 launches with its own grid, widget size, and color schemes whilst also gaining illustrated covers and new folder layouts.
The larger 6.7-inch OLED display sports FHD+ resolution with 394ppi, 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and 240Hz touch sampling rate. There's support for HDR10+ and SGS Low Blue Light and its protected by Corning's Gorilla Glass. On the topic of protection, the Phone 2 is rated at IP54 water and dust resistance.
With more lighting segments than its predecessor, the Phone 2's Glyph interface offers more capabilities and customization options. It can now works as a visual countdown, volume checker, and even show the progress of your deliveries. The Essential Glyph Notifications option will have exclusive use of the top-right LED when enabled.
The 4,700mAh battery should be good for full-day usage at a minimum, with support for 45W wired charging which achieves a full charge in 55 minutes as well as 15W Qi wireless charging. And, in case you have wireless earbuds that need topping up, 5W reverse charging is also included for convenience.
On the rear of the Phone 2 are a pair of 50MP cameras, one of which (Sony IMX890) is the main camera with features such as OIS, EIS, Advanced HDR, and 4K video at 60fps. The other 50MP sensor (Samsung JN1) takes care of ultra-wide and macro shots and features EIS, advanced HDR, and has a 114° FoV.
A 32MP front-facing camera (Sony IMX615) is housed in the punch-hole cutout in the top-center of the display.
