We already knew that Nothing is gearing up to launch its second smartphone sometime during the summer and thanks to a Forbes interview with Carl Pei, we now know that it will be as soon as July. In the interview, Nothing's CEO talks about the design, the Phone 2's battery capacity, and claims that the brand “trailblazed” the path with its transparent design language.
Regarding the Phone 2, Pei mentioned that its scheduled to launch sometime during July, which means we'll need to wait for another drip in the lineup of neverending factoids we can expect in the coming weeks. Much like Nothing does with every product launch. Apart from being powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor from last year, the Phone 2 is confirmed to pack in a larger battery which has a capacity of 4,700mAh. This represents a 200mAh bump over last year's Phone 1.
Carl Pei also revealed that the Phone 1 sold 750,000 units which, while a good result for a first smartphone, isn't going to trouble the likes of Samsung any time soon. Put your pitchfolks away, I said it was a good result for a debut smartphone, and it provides a solid base to work on. Especially since the Phone 2 will be powered by a stronger processor which gives more options in terms of performance (allegedly an 80% improvement over the Phone 1), battery life, and camera capabilities.

Probably the most controversial section of the interview is the quote above where Carl Pei says that Nothing “trailblazed” the path for transparent designs, which we believe is targeting the realm of audio and not smartphones. Lastly, it was also confirmed that Nothing will launch the Phone 2 in the US at the same time as other regions.
