Shredder's Revenge

Netflix isn't a name we'd typically associate with mobile gaming but the streaming service has just published a new game on Android (and iOS) called TMNT: Shredder's Revenge. Sporting retro graphics and co-op capabilities, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game is only available to Netflix subscribers.

While it sucks that you need to have an active Netflix subscription to play TMNT: Shredder's Revenge, there is an upside in that there are no ads or in-app purchases.

As for the game well, you'll be up against the likes of Shredder, Krang, and the Smelly Foot Clan with the ability to team up with other players. Frankly, it looks like a lot of fun – as you can see in the video above.

Features:

• Play with iconic TMNT characters, including our ninja turtle heroes Leo, Raph, Donnie, and Mikey — or pick April, Master Splinter, or Casey Jones as playable characters for the first time!
• Enjoy old-school gameplay enhanced with super-fresh fighting mechanics.
• Discover a fresh adventure with a totally awesome new story mode.
• Time-travel back to the '80s with this nostalgic design, including retro full-color pixel art graphics.
• Listen to a rad soundtrack made by Tee Lopes.
• This game is Bluetooth controller-supported.

Requirements:

  • Android phone or tablet: Android 8.0, 3GB of RAM
  • iPhone or iPad: iOS/iPadOS 15, A12 Bionic chip or later

Something to remember is that game saves are stored locally on your device and not in the cloud. This means that if you start playing TMNT: Shredder's Revenge on a new device you will have to start from the beginning.

  1. As it’s only on Netflix, and as Netflix only supports mobile devices with the latest OS, the amount of people able to play this week probably be extremely small.

What a waste of an opportunity to bring this great game to mobile and squandering it via the sinkhole of obscurity and irrelevance that is Netflix games…
