Google has just announced the fourth (and last) full Android 13 Beta build for eligible Pixel handsets which includes a slew of bug fixes, optimizations, and the July 2022 Security Patch. The build is for developers to fine tune their apps to the latest APIs and squash any lingering bugs ahead of next months official release.
The Android 13 Beta rollout is well ahead of last years Android 12 beta program in terms of timing. This fourth beta is set to roll out to enrolled Pixel handsets but if you can't wait for the OTA to arrive you can download the files from here to install on your device manually.
Eligible Handsets
- Pixel 4 and 4 XL
- Pixel 4a and 4a (5G)
- Pixel 5 and 5a
- Pixel 6 and 6 Pro
According to the post on the Android Developer website, the Android 13 Beta 4 includes the following fixes:
Developer-reported issues
- Fixed an issue where on some devices, paired Bluetooth devices could be observed to rapidly connect and disconnect from the device.
- Fixed an issue where the Google Camera app occasionally crashed on Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro devices.
Other resolved issues
- Fixed an issue where, when a user checks for system updates by navigating to Settings > System > System update, the system incorrectly reported Android 12 as the device's Android version, even when the device was already successfully updated to an Android 13 build.
- Fixed an issue on Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro devices where the Now Playing page sometimes got stuck on Downloading song database.
