Samsung hasn't revealed when it will launch its fourth generation of foldables just yet but more details about the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 are steadily appearing. We've already seen the benchmarks revealing that the Flip 4 will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset (in the US at least), and now the Geekbench benchmarking site has confirmed that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will follow suit.
According to Geekbench, a Galaxy Z Fold 4 with model number SM-F936U was benchmarked on the site. The results revealed a single-core score of 1351 and a multi-core score of 3808. Granted, these numbers mean literally nothing in real-world usage but the presence of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset is the main focus.
The claim that the new chip offers a 10% performance boost over the regular Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is fine and dandy but the added 30% power efficiency is the most interesting thing about the 8+ Gen 1 processor. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 won't have the same battery capacity that we see on normal flagships, so anything that squeezes more screen-on-time out of the battery life is appreciated.
It's thought that Samsung will hold an Unpacked launch event for the new Galaxy Z Fold/Flip 4 foldables sometime during August, which means there's still a good while to wait for the leakers to do their thing.
