Despite running beta programs for its flagship smartphones when there's a new version of Android released, Samsung hasn't done the same for its smartwatches. Until now that is because Galaxy Watch 4 owners in the US can now sign up for the first One UI Watch Beta Program to test new firmware builds ahead of their public release.
Initially slated to kick off in South Korea first, the One UI Watch Beta Program is already live in the US and we expect Samsung to expand the testing to more regions in the days and weeks ahead. How do you sign up for the One UI Watch Beta Program? We've got the instructions for you below:
- Open up the Samsung Members app on your Samsung smartphone
- Tap on the banner saying “Join One UI Watch Beta Program (Watch 4)
- Tap on Notices and then select “Registration for One UI Watch Beta Program”
- Complete the application form and if successful, you'll be enrolled in the program
- Wait for Samsung to roll out the first One UI Watch Beta firmware
As reported by 9to5Google, Samsung hasn't begun rolling out the beta firmware just yet and it's likely that it will only start to do so on or after June 2nd. Samsung says that it will take up to 2 days to leave the program and that if you do choose to leave, you won't be able to sign up for the beta again.
