The Moto G Stylus (2022) is official with a 90Hz display and 4G connectivity

We reviewed the Moto G Stylus 5G in 2021 and found that hit the sweet spot in terms of pricing, productivity, and performance. We are now in February 2022 and Motorola has just taken the wraps off of the Moto G Stylus (2022) which offers a few upgrades and a couple of surprising omissions.

Compared to the Moto G Stylus (2021), the 2022 model features a bigger 5,000mAh battery along with a large 6.8-inch display that offers FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood is MediaTek's Helio G88 processor that is paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage.

It also has a triple rear camera setup that includes a 50MP main sensor while the display houses a 16MP selfie camera. As you would expect from the name, the Moto G Stylus (2022) comes with a stylus that is housed within the internal slot.

While the Moto G Stylus (2022) features a couple of items that can be dealbreakers such as an audio jack and MicroSD card support, there are two forms of connectivity that are missing which you would expect to see on a phone launching in this day and age. For some reason, Motorola made the decision to omit the inclusion of 5G networking as well as NFC connectivity, which means that besides not being able to access those speedy new 5G networks you won't be using the Moto G Stylus (2022) for mobile payments either.

If the lack of 5G and NFC isn't a big deal, you can pick up the Moto G Stylus (2022) for $299 from Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart.
