Folding phones are kind of expensive. We've seen the prices come down a bit from the astronomical prices that they ran in the beginning, but they're still not cheap.
Some rumors circulated earlier that Samsung might finally be able to start cutting down on some costs for their Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3, but it looks like that'll only hold up for one of the phones.
Galaxy Z Fold 3 pricing
If you want the good news first, the more affordable Galaxy Z Flip 3 looks like it'll be easier on the wallet this year, coming right into high-end flagship territory. Last year's model ran €1400 at launch, while the third generation is set to come in at €1029. That's a considerable price drop, even for a phone that lacks some of the punch of super high-end devices.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3, however, is keeping up its wallet-busting price tag. The next phone will supposedly run just over €2000, which means we're basically not getting any kind of significant price change.
These leaks are for European pricing, but Samsung tends to keep them the same in the US market as well. So you can pretty easily expect the Z Flip 3 to run somewhere around $999 and the Galaxy Z Fold 3 to hit $1999, give or take a couple bucks.
Expect to see more from these phones at Samsung's Unpacked event in a little over a week.
