OnePlus Nord SE

Turns out the OnePlus Nord SE is on the way sometime in 2021, and OnePlus has some pretty big plans for its midrange device in its next iteration.

Even faster charging headlines these features, but I'm sure the naming similarities to Apple's middle-of-the-road phones is going to make the rounds, too.

OnePlus Nord SE

The OnePlus Nord SE will keep the cheaper price, but improvements to the battery and charging seem to be the most important new features. Expect to see a 4500mAh battery in the Nord SE, plus 65W fast charging like what debuted with the OnePlus 8T. That means you can get a fully recharged device in under 40 minutes, which is impressive for that battery size.

With the current OnePlus Nord rocking a Snapdragon 765G CPU, I'd expect the OnePlus Nord SE to also use a Snapdragon 700-series CPU next year. Staying out of Qualcomm's absolute highest-end hardware helps to keep the price down and avoids bumping that $1000 ceiling for OnePlus.

There's still a few months before anything is made official, and we heard a ton of things changing about the current Nord's development cycle, but you can expect something to come not too long after a OnePlus 9 announcement, which we're anticipating around March. At this point if you're in the market for something affordable to upgrade to, you might just want to wait out the holidays and see what OnePlus has cooking.
