Verizon and Yahoo Mobile have teamed up to bring you the ZTE Blade A3Y with budget-level specs and a matching $50 price tag. Sporting a vivid purple finish, the Yahoo phone manages to look both garish and appealing at the same time.
For just $50 the Yahoo phone can hardly disappoint, and to be perfectly honest, it's equipped fairly well for the price. With its standout purple colorway, Yahoo's ZTE Blade A3Y has a 5.4-inch 720HD display and is powered by a MediaTek quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of built-in storage, which is expandable up to 2TB. The rear panel houses a fingerprint sensor, a single 8MP camera, and is able to be removed so you can access the 2,660mAh battery. And before you ask, yes, there is a USB-C charging port on this $50 phone. Weird, right?
In terms of software, the Yahoo phone launches running Android 10 out of the box and a whole lot of bloatware. To be specific, Yahoo bloatware in the form of the following pre-installed apps that Verizon says will ‘are optimized for speed and take up less space because they are pre-installed“.
- Yahoo Mail to stay up on your latest email, newsletters, coupons, and discounts. Pairing your device with a Yahoo Mobile phone plan will automatically include Yahoo Mail Pro for ad-free email
- Yahoo News featuring 360 coverage and immersive experiences
- Yahoo Sports with live sports and the new feature “Watch Together” – a way to live-stream free NFL games virtually with friends
