It was one of life's great mysteries when it was released on Android and iOS in 2019, with many of us wondering why Nintendo decided to restrict Mario Kart Tour gameplay to portrait mode. Now it seems that the head office also thought it was a dud decision because the latest update finally brings the ability to play the game in landscape mode.

Landscape mode also brings a new control layout that is much easier to use, which is good news for Mario Kart Tour fans.
After adding multiplayer support back in March, Nintendo's latest update, which goes live tomorrow (July 21st), brings yet more functionality to a game that is pretty enjoyable to play thanks to its simplicity. If the restriction to portrait mode was enough to turn you away from Mario Kart Tour, does the addition of landscape more give you reason to re-visit the game?
