The Galaxy Fold launched in February 2019 and again in September after undergoing a refit, now it seems that Samsung is set to bring its successor under the Z branding that we first saw with the Galaxy Z Flip earlier this year.
According to SamMobile's sources, Samsung will name the follow-up foldable as the Galaxy Z Fold 2. The news comes some months after the brand gave the somewhat buzzword explanation of the “Z” branding.
“it intuitively communicates the idea of a fold while delivering a dynamic, youthful feel.”
For the vast majority, the addition of the “Z” is not a big deal, and shouldn't have any impact on whether to buy the Galaxy Z Fold 2 or not when it's announced, perhaps on August 5th alongside the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Z Flip 5G.
