The Motorola RAZR had quite a bumpy launch. Between broken screens and middling reviews, it just didn't manage to hang on to the spotlight before the newest Galaxy Z Flip hit and made its own set of waves.
It also didn't help that the phone shipped with Android 9.0 Pie.
Motorola RAZR Android 10 update
Fortunately (and finally) Motorola has corrected that and released the Android 10 update for their newest folding, flipping smartphone.
One of the early praises from our reader review was the Motorola RAZR's front-screen and how functional it was. Motorola is leaning into this, and they've added some new functionality in the Android 10 update here.
Now your front screen will act a little more like a regular Android interface, allowing you to swipe up to go home, swipe around to access shortcuts, and more. You'll get full access to your notifications and can see navigation messages here as well. Not all apps are supported yet, but this seems like a positive addition to the update.
You'll still get all the regular stuff that comes with Android 10, like better dark mode controls, UX customization, under-the-hood improvements, adaptive battery tweaks, and more. It's a solid update, and one that's long overdue for such an expensive phone.
Now let's just hold out for the Android 11 update, whenever that comes.
